Descriptive books for Hamilton's Sons of Veterans' Provisional Regiment, 1898-1899.

Descriptive books are for two companies, one based in Elgin and one in Macomb, of a provisional regiment formed but never mustered into service during the Spanish-American War. Entries include each man's name; age; birthplace; height; colors of eyes, hair, and complexion; occupation; enlistment date and place; enlisting officer name; and occasional remarks on promotions or discharges.
